KRUSE, Mary Jean, 81, formerly of Albert City, Iowa, passed away December 26, 2021, in Springfield, Ohio. Mary was born July 24, 1940, to Gunnard and Dorothy Anderson of Albert City. She graduated from Albert City High School in 1958. Mary received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Buena Vista College in 1973. She went on to teach for several years. She later received her degree in nursing in 1982. She was employed by Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota where she worked for eighteen years. Mary was honored to serve as an officer in the US Army Reserves for eleven years. She was activated and served during Desert Storm. Upon her retirement from Mayo Clinic, Mary relocated to Tucson, Arizona where she worked within the hospitals in the area. She remained in Tucson after retirement until she relocated to Springfield, Ohio to be nearer to family. Mary is survived by her children: Michael (Michele) Young, Savannah, Georgia; Danette Jackson, Harker Heights, Texas; Curtis (Margo) Young, Stewartville, Minnesota; Nan Baker, Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and Heidi Frates, Springfield, Ohio; her fourteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Albert City Historical Museum, 212 2nd Street North, Albert City, IA 50510. Mary's family will share a date for a celebration of life at a later date to be determined in Albert City, Iowa.
