Zenonia Zieniewicz

Zenonia Zieniewicz, 92, loving wife, mother, and grandmother went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Oct. 22, 2023. She was born in Boonville, New York, to Kazmira and Bronislaw Pogonowski.  She grew up with six sisters and three brothers on the family dairy farm in Cold Brook, New York. She was a graduate of Poland Central School and went on to work at the local bank. In 1952 she married the love of her life, Florian Zieniewicz and together raised four children.  Caring for her family was the most important job she ever held. Zenonia (Pug) always wore a big smile and had an even bigger personality.  Her kitchen was always open, and no one ever left her house hungry.  She was the fun "Grammy" who loved her grandchildren, and they loved her. She is survived by her children Gary Zieniewicz of Utica, NY,  Jan Zieniewicz of Camden, NY,  daughter Janice and husband Kime Risteff of Springfield, Ohio, daughter Kathleen of Colorado. She leaves behind her brother Wally (Alice) Pogonowski of Cold Brook, NY, and sister Irene Bouck of Utica, NY. She was also blessed by nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 on Tuesday Oct. 31st at St. Johns Cemetery in Newport, NY.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Zenonia's name to a charity of your choice. She will be missed.
