William E. Schutte

SCHUTTE, William E., 68, of Springfield, passed away at home on Saturday, January 28, 2023 surrounded by his family.  He was born June 26, 1954 in Jacksonville, FL the son of George R. and Joanne (Schwartz) Schutte, Sr.  Bill retired from the United States Air Force in 1977.  He later went to work for DFAS in Columbus as an IT specialist retiring in 2022.  Bill was a member of AMVETS, local bike clubs and was an avid biker.  Survivors include his wife, Judi (Todd); four children, Connie & Jimmy Schutte-Lutz, Billiejo Nicholas, Karianne Wright and Ted Schutte; seven stepchildren, Sam (Katie) Robinson, Joshua Culp, Steven (Megan) Culp, Edward Culp, Angela Culp, Margaret (James) Disher and April Culp; 24 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; siblings, George R. Schutte, Jr., Linda Schutte, Thomas & Cindy Schutte, Richard & Joyce Schutte and Maggi Zelasco.  He was preceded in death by his father, George Schutte, mother and stepfather, Joanne and John Juenger and a great granddaughter, Desiree Rodgers.  Bill’s official motto was “It sounded like a good idea at the time.”  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME.  Visitation will be held one hour prior beginning at 10:00 am.  Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
