McGree, William Fenton passed away peacefully on Monday, May 19, 2014 in his daughter's home where he resided in Enon. He was born in Urbana on Flag Day June 14, 1924 the son of John and Abbie (Parke) McGree. Bill proudly served in the European Theatre with the 103rd Cactus Division of the U.S. Army. He graduated from St. Mary Urbana High School and the University of Dayton. He owned his own real estate company in the 1950's and early 1960's in Oakwood, Ohio. In 1963 he joined Rike's at the Salem Mall, then came to Springfield to open the Upper Valley Mall store. As a department manager and store manager he mentored many of his employees who became lifelong friends and family. He was also the United Way representative for the entire mall. Bill is survived by his daughter, Mary Beth (David) Ratliff; grandchildren, Zachary William (Megan) Carver and Joshua and Rebecca Ratliff; great grandson, Keegan Jobes-Carver. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann on January 30, 2014. His funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in CONROY FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Ken Henderson officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery.
