SCHWARTZ, William J., 88, of Springfield passed away May 3, 2014 in his home. He was born Springfield, OH to William and Luella (Logan) Schwartz on December 26, 1925. Bill was a loving husband and father who was always there for others with a smile on his face. He adored all of his grandchildren. He was truly fulfilled on Easter being surrounded by his family. He served during World War II in the US Navy aboard the ISS Selfridge, worked at Supreme Novelty and retired in 1985 from International Harvester. Survivors include the love of his life and wife of 67 years, Teresa (Lizza); daughters, Sandy Falkenstein, Marilyn (Dave) Perdue, Betsy (Stan) Wenclewicz, Barb (Les) Heckman and Cindy (TJ) Berry; grandchildren, Michael, Shannon, Cheryl, Julie, Christa, Amy, Kyle, Josh, David and Heather; great grandchildren, Zachary, Nicholas, Lily, William, Eliza, Chloe and Peyton; sisters-in-law, Sonda Sullivan, Patti Lizza, Joyce Schwartz and Shirley Schwartz; brother-in-law, Bob Byers. Preceding him in death were his grandson, Christopher Falkenstein; brothers, Jim and Frank; sisters, Mary, Sue and Georgiana and his faithful companions, Brutus and Suzie. He leaves a deep void in the hearts of all those who loved him so dearly. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Deacon Norm Horstman officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Maintenance Fund.
