William E. "Wild Bill" Arnold, Jr.

ARNOLD, William E., Jr., "Wild Bill", 61, of Springfield, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 in Springfield Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was born July 9, 1956 in Springfield, the son of the late William E. and Della May (Duckworth) Arnold, Sr. He was a 1974 graduate of Springfield North High School where he ran cross country and was voted MVP on the only team that won a State Championship. Bill was the owner/operator of Mobile Mechanic Locksmith and Pentx Security for 35 years. He was a member of the Union Club, Machinist Club and was a United States Army veteran. Bill was a longtime high school baseball umpire and basketball referee. He volunteered for many years at The Special Olympics and FF Mueller Center and was a member of the Clark County Underwater Recovery Team. Survivors include his four children and spouses, Bonnie Arnold, Springfield, Amber & Jerod Lewis, Springfield, William E. Arnold, III, Columbus and Alan & Sharayah Arnold, New Carlisle; nine grandchildren; three siblings, Jerry Arnold, Missouri, Leonard & Lisa Arnold, New Carlisle and Charity Arnold, North Carolina, numerous nieces and nephews and too many friends to list. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Michelle and Patricia Collins. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm on Monday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME with Bishop Michael Collier officiating. Visitation will be held 2 hours prior beginning at 4:00 pm.
