William E. Stathopoulos

Stathopoulos, William E., 66, of Dayton, passed away on July 21, 2016 in his residence. Bill was born on January 23, 1950 in Springfield, the son of George J. and Mary Florence (Ellinger) Stathopoulos. He was a 1968 graduate of Catholic Central High School and then served in United States Air Force. He had been employed as a Firefighter for the Air National Guard before retiring as a TSGT in 1996. He was a member of the Buckeye Club. Survivors include his children, Andy (Kristy) Stathopoulos of Springfield and Tina (Jeff) Edwards of Urbana; three grandchildren, Alexis, Abby and Kate; brother, Dick Stathopoulos of Fairborn, a niece and nephew, Mary Ellen and Nick, and his dear companion, Mary McAfee. He was preceded in death by his brother, James (Patty) Stathopoulos. Friends may call in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday with services at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Cremation to follow. Burial with Military Honors will be in Ferncliff Cemetery Soldiers Mound at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Wounded Warriors.
