STUMPF, William A., Jr., 92, of Springfield, passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2018 in Oakwood Village. He was born October 5, 1926 in Springfield the son of William A. and Mary E. (Romer) Stumpf, Sr. Bill worked at Bonded Oil for 43 years where he retired as Vice President. He was also President of the Bosart Company in Springfield. Bill was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church where he was past president of the church council. He was a 70 year member of the Clark Lodge F&AM, past President of Kiwanis, past President of Jaycee, past President of Northwood Hills Country Club, past President of Springfield Country Club, past President of YMCA & Camp Evergreen, a member of University Club, served on the founding board of St. John's Nursing Home and Oakwood Village Nursing Home. Bill was a US Navy veteran having served in World War II. He is survived by his three children and spouses, Rick & Karen Stumpf, David & Sue Stumpf and Joan Henderson, all of Springfield; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one niece, Barbara Adams; two great nephews; his former spouse, Margery K. Stumpf and his good friend, Julie McGregor. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother and sister-in-law, Robert & Ellen Stumpf and a dear friend, Perry Halley. Friends may call from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME with Masonic Service at 3:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday in St. John's Lutheran Church. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Ferncliff Cemetery.
