Wayne D. Chalender, Sr.

Chalender, Sr., Wayne D., 78, of Urbana, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 3, 2016. He was born in Urbana on December 21, 1937 the son of Willard and Frances Chalender. He formerly owned and operated Wayne's Steel Fabricators and Dudley's Diner. Survivors include, Peggy D. (Tabern), whom he married June 26, 1970; daughter, Elizabeth D. Chalender; sons, Jonathan W., Wayne, Warren and Wesley Chalender; three sisters, Jackie, Melanie and Valerie; brother, Norman; sisters-in-law, Shirlene L. Adams and Brenda C. Wilson; ten grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Wade. The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Richard Darr, Minister Tobias L. Wilson, Vicki Eckstein, God's Covenant Sisters Group, Heartland of Urbana, Heartland Hospice Care and the special care he received from his nursing staff. His life was celebrated by family with him before he went to be with the Lord by prayers, scripture and singing "Blessed Assurance". Arrangements handled by CONROY FUNERAL HOME.
