Vernal Fairchild

Fairchild, Vernal, 79, of Springfield, went to his heavenly home on January 23, 2018. He was born on February 28, 1938 in Morgan County, KY to the late Roy and Bessie (Brown) Fairchild. He was a member of the South Charleston Freewill Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Marjorie (Risner) Fairchild; four children, Deborah (Keith) McDermott, Terry (Lisa) Fairchild, Dean Fairchild and Chassity (Travis) Brugler, all of Springfield; two sisters, Dorothy Boisel and Wilma (Johnny) Sexton; two brothers, Lawrence Fairchild and James (Vickie) Fairchild; 9 grandchildren, Shane (Leslie) McDermott, Kyle McDermott, Justin McDermott, Coty (Lydia) Hamilton, Adrian Cotton, Hannah Cotton, Bricen Brugler, Addison Brugler and Avery Brugler; two great grandchildren, Mason and Eli McDermott; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend of the family, David Besecker. He was preceded in death by his parents; and five brothers, Edward, Silven, Roy, Jr., Wilburn and Ernest. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 - 7 p.m. in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Funeral service will be held on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in Zag Community Church, West Liberty, KY. Burial will be held at Fairchild Cemetery.
