Verena "Rennie" Mullett

MULLETT, Verena "Rennie", 75, of Springfield, passed away at midnight on Sunday, July 13, 2014 in Heartland of Springfield. She was born October 27, 1938 in Putnam County the daughter of Hugo and Magdalene (Buss) Schroeder. Formerly of Kalida, Ohio and graduated in 1957 from Kalida High School. She and her family moved to Springfield in the summer of 1970. She worked at many food services such as Silver Swan, Mr. J's., Every Green, Harvest House and then at Wittenberg in food service for a number of years. Rennie attended Lighthouse Pentecostal Church. She loved all the people she came in contact with. She is survived by her two sons, Glenn & Yvonne Schmitz and Dennis & Donna Mullett; one grandson, Zan Mullett and one great granddaughter, Victoria Patton, all of Springfield. She enjoyed reading, puzzles, baking, gardening all of her special flowers and the Wittenberg basketball team. She made many friends over the years including her special friends, Emma Suttle, Linda Leonard and Larry and Patty Davis, all of Springfield. She left behind five brothers and five sisters; George & Marciel Schroeder, Angela Maag, all of Ottawa, Betty Schroeder, Orlando, Alex & Nancy Schroeder, Findlay, Eleanor & Ken Unterbrink, Michigan, Fr. Steve Schroeder, Johanna & Norbert Rieman, Ottawa, Ted & Judy Schroeder, Columbus Grove, Rita & Steve Kuhlman, Ottawa and Frank & Dorothy Schroeder, Kalida, Ohio and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, her first husband, Elmer Schmitz in 1966, her special companion of 28 years, John L. Davis and one brother, John Schroeder. Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday in the funeral home with her brother, Fr. Steve Schroeder, officiating. Burial will follow in St. John Roman Catholic Cemetery, Glandorf, Ohio. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Springfield Regional Cancer Center.
