Ivory, Thomas "Tom" E., 82, was born August 17, 1936 and passed away on September 4, 2018. Tom graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1954 and went to Carnegie College in Cleveland, where he was the captain of the baseball and basketball teams. He was an avid baseball fan, player and coach. He was inducted into the Springfield Clark County Baseball Hall of Fame in 2016. He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church since 1945. He served as a lector at St. Bernard as well as St. Bernadette in Hedgeville, West Virginia, a ministry he truly looked forward to doing. He was very proud of his Irish heritage and loved studying about the Irish. He served in the U.S. Army and worked for the New York Central Railroad, U.S. Post Office and retired from International Harvester. Tom is survived by his brother, Mick (Sue) Ivory; daughter, Kim Eanes; grandson, Travis (Kristie) Souders; granddaughter, Keisha (Gary) Bement; grandson, Gary Brewer; numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; cousins, Mary Ellen (Tim) Blevins and his buddy, Rudy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy; parents, Carl and Anna Marie (Kennedy) Ivory; brothers, Jim and Bill and his daughter, Kathy. Tom would like to thank his many friends and family for their prayers and love. Many thanks to aides, nurses and therapists at Forest Glen for their kindness and friendship. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday in CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday in St. Bernard Church.
