ZETTLER, Thomas Jude "Tom", 82, of South Charleston, went to his final resting place early Saturday morning, May 16, 2015. Born the second of three sons to Francis and Marie (Wiener) Zettler on April 28, 1933, in Springfield, Ohio, he graduated from Catholic Central High School and was a member of the Air Force from 1952-1956, during the Korean War. He was a long-time employee of and retired from Ohio Bell. An avid golfer, Tom earned entry to the ultimate 19th hole Saturday morning. He traveled often with family and friends for golfing vacation destinations. He was happiest when eating oysters on the half-shell and surrounded by his family for cookouts, birthday celebrations and holidays. Tom is survived by Rose Zettler, his wife of 27 years; four children: Teri (Vince) Pacetti, Mark (Lynn) Zettler, Sue (Jeff) Lyons and Rick (Michelle) Zettler; four stepchildren: Teresa (Shannon) McCullough, Jeff (Madge) Earles, Kevin (Sheri) Earles and Brian (Kay) Earles; 53 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry Zettler, sister-in-law Ann Elizabeth "Libby" Zettler, former wife, Marlene Zettler; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Edwin Zettler, eldest son, Thomas Michael Zettler, and stepdaughter, Kimberly Belford. The family will greet visitors from 4 - 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19 in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 20, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 31 S. Chillicothe St., South Charleston, with Fr. Louis Asobi officiating. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, South Charleston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ALS Association or the American Cancer Society.
