McLEAN, Thomas G., 75, of Springfield, passed away August 7, 2013 in Oakwood Village following a lengthy illness. He was born March 26, 1938 in Springfield the son of Clarence E. "Mickey" and Marie A. (Dugan) McLean. He was a 1955 graduate of Catholic Central High School, a 1967 graduate of the Community Hospital School of Nursing and a medical corpsman in the United States Navy. He worked as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist at Community Hospital for over 30 years, retiring in 2003. He later volunteered at St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry and went to the YMCA on a regular basis. Survivors include his devoted wife of 45 years, Sharon (Ruth); two sons, Michael McLean, Springfield and Dan McLean, Louisville; five grandchildren, Cassie, Nick, Jack and Natalie McLean and Cassidy Bowman; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank & Joan and Patrick & Kathy, of Springfield, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law, Harold Ruth. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2 to 7 p.m. in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Bernard Catholic Church with Fr. Jerry Haemmerle and Fr. Paul Hurst concelebrating. Burial will follow in Ferncliff Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry. Tom was much loved and will be missed by many.
