Thomas A. Brodbeck

Brodbeck, Thomas A., age 85, of Springfield, passed away on November 15, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in St. Marys, Ohio on March 14, 1931 to the late Walter and Elizabeth Brodbeck. A 1954 Graduate of the University of Dayton, Tom was the proprietor of Park Lanes Bowling Alley for 28 years and later in life a driving instructor for Safeway Driving School. Tom was passionate about his family: his wife, children and grandchildren, enjoying every family gathering and celebration to the fullest. He was a lifelong Cincinnati Bengals fan and could often be found fishing the local lakes around Clark County or watching a baseball game with his wife at the Northridge Ball Park from his backyard. Some of his fondest memories are the times he spent with his family in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Tom was a kind-hearted, giving and generous man, quick with a joke and friend to all. He will be greatly missed by his BINGO and volleyball friends at Elderly United. Preceded in death by his parents; and siblings Kathleen (Art) Wiggenhorn, Bob (Jeannette) Brodbeck, Bill (Ginny) Brodbeck and Clem (Margaret) Brodbeck. Survived by his devoted wife of 60 years Carol Brodbeck; children, Dale (Barbara) Brodbeck of Dublin, OH, Mary (Ricky) Jobe of Dublin, OH, Sharon Brodbeck of Springfield and Daniel Brodbeck of Columbus; grandchildren, Julia and Allison Slipsky, and Haley Brodbeck; Lucy, Libby, Ellie and CiCi Jobe, Christopher and Jennipher Brodbeck, great grandchildren, Timothy, Isabella, Evelyn, and Antonio; special relatives, David & Janet Watson, David & Ardis Hamlin and dear friends, Dan & Beverly Chiricosta and a host of loving relatives and friends. The family would like to thank the caring and compassionate team at Hospice of Miami Valley, especially niece and CEO, Tara Brodbeck. Family will receive friends Friday, November 18, from 4-7pm at CONROY FUNERAL HOME, 1660 E. High St. Springfield, OH, 45505. Funeral service will be held that Saturday at 11am at St. Teresa's Catholic Church, 1827 N. Limestone St. Springfield, OH 45503. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Elderly United in Springfield, Ohio or Hospice of Miami Valley.
