Thelma D. Betts

Betts, Thelma D., 86, of Springfield, passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2015 in the Springfield Regional Medical Center. Thelma was born March 19, 1929 in Jackson, OH to James and Mabel "Peg" (Yinger) Pitchford. She worked as the Treasurer for Oakland Presbyterian Church for 30 years, where she was also a member. Survivors include one son, Jimmy Betts; three grandchildren, Nicole L. (Terry) Mathews, John M. (Jessica) Betts and Derek A. Betts; five great grandchildren, Madisyn, Liberty, Ema, Simon and Harper; two siblings, Dottie (Gary) Wade and Mary (Larry) Beekman; brother-in-law, Maurice "Skip" Kenney; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don, in 1984; a son, John H.; and two sisters, Norma Kenney and Myrtle Peck. Visitation will be held on Monday from 5-7 p.m. in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Rick Clos officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
