Anderson, Thelma C. (Annie), went to be with her Lord on September 27, 2024. She was born September 23, 1925 in Springfield, Ohio and lived her whole life in this community. She graduated from Springfield High School with the Class of 1943. She was the daughter of Fred H. and Gladys (Creachbaum) Ryman. Thelma married Roland Richard Anderson, Jr. on May 15, 1948. Those mourning her passing are her nephew and nieces, Mark Ryman (Susan), Lynn Hunger (Mark), Amy Peters (Brian), numerous great nieces and nephews. In addition are good friends, David Stumpf (Susan); God children, Paige Caven (Bradley), their two sons and daughter and Adam Stumpf. Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard, daughter, Lorie Sterba, son, James Anderson, brother, Donald Ryman, a niece, Leslie Ryman, as well as lifetime friends, Rosemary and Leonard Krauskopf and JoAnn and Robert Phillips,

Upon graduation from High School, Thelma worked for 7 years in the Accounting Department of the Springfield News and Sun. Thelma graduated from Wittenberg University in 1970 and received her Master’s degree in teaching from Wright State in 1973. She taught for the Springfield City Schools and retired in 1988 after 18 years. Thelma went on to tutor for many years through the Literacy Center in Springfield.

Thelma joined First Lutheran Church in Springfield, Ohio on November 29, 1959. Thelma was a lifetime member of the Buckeye Trails Girl Scouts, member of the Ohio Retired Teachers and Clark County Retired Teachers. Thelma enjoyed volunteering for over 50 years for the Sewing Circle at First Lutheran Church, preparing quilts for the Lutheran World Relief and local agencies. She also volunteered for the Clark County Habitat, Clark County Literacy Center, Interfaith Hospitality Network, Women’s Auxiliary of Oesterlen Home for Youth, the Young Women’s Mission, Springfield Performing Arts Center, AARP and Presidents of PTA. Thelma was a longtime member of Ace High Euchre Club. Thelma also managed to travel extensively throughout the world and the United States.

At Thelma’s request her body has been donated to Wright State Medical School. A Memorial Service will be held on October 12, 2024 at Oakwood Village, in their Independent Living Community Room at 1:00pm.

Memorial gifts may be made to a charity of your choice or to Interfaith Hospitality Network, Clark County Habitat for Humanity, Oesterlen Home for Youth, Clark County Literacy Center or First Lutheran Church Youth Fund. Arrangements by CONROY FUNERAL HOME.
