Terrance L. (Terry) Souder

Souder, Terrance L. (Terry), 85, of Springfield, Ohio, died Monday, January 15, 2018 after many years of pain from persistently declining health. Terry, beloved husband, father and grandfather (and so much more) was born on October 15, 1932 in Springfield, Ohio, the son of Forrest L. and Angie L. (Clemans) Souder. Terry graduated from Springfield High School, class of 1950, joined the United States Navy in 1952, served in the Korean War, and became a Wounded Warrior in 1955. After retiring from the Navy, Terry followed his heart into the automobile industry, where he was involved in every facet " from sales, to managing, to owning his own new car dealership " Terry Souder Ford in Urbana, Ohio " until suffering a massive, debilitating heart attack. Not one to ever quit, Terry returned to further his education by attending Clark State Community College and graduated from Urbana University with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, and remained actively engaged in the automobile industry. A quiet strength, Terry shared his love with his family by passing on the values of honesty, integrity, and compassion. He married his wife of nearly 60 years, Barbara (Keller) Souder, on June 28, 1958. Their marriage was blessed with two daughters: Robin Lin (David) Sproat of Richmond, VA, and Terri Lin (Jose) Souder-Basa of Chicago, IL, and three grandchildren Chloe, Keller and Skylar Basa. Terry was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church. In honoring his wishes, a private Catholic memorial service will be held at CONROY FUNERAL HOME, officiated by Deacon Norman Horstman.
