Teresa A. Yontz

Yontz, Teresa A., 56, of Springfield, died at 8:05 p.m. Thursday, September 19, 2013 in her residence. She was born in Springfield on July 3, 1957 the daughter of Adrian Edward "Mike" and Mary Margaret (Higgins) Charters. She was a teacher for 28 years with the Springfield Public School system and later worked for 6 years at Catholic Central High School. She was a 1975 graduate of Catholic Central High School, a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church and enjoyed reading, golf and the beach. She received many awards over the years, including Ohio Teacher of the Year. She will be remembered for the warm, funny and genuine person she was. Survivors include her husband, Randy; two children, Michael and Maggie Yontz; brother and sister-in-law, Tom (Sue Saravalli) Charters of Cranbury, New Jersey. Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. Sunday in CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Raphael Church. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, London. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Michael Hodge Scholarship Fund for tuition assistance at Catholic Central High School or Community Mercy Hospice.
