Sonya M. Jones

JONES, Sonya M. "Sam", 53, of Springfield, passed away February 4, 2015 in Springfield Regional Medical Center. She was born August 10, 1961 in Springfield the daughter of Robert and Sandra (Meachem) Jenkins, Sr. She attended Full Gospel Community Church. She is survived by her father and step-mother, Robert (Mary) Jenkins, Sr.; five children and spouses, Brad (Chassidy) Jenkins, Julin (Dave) Smith, Amber (Ray) Le-Acosta, Deara Freeman, Jamie (Jessika) Coe; twelve grandchildren, Esabella Acosta, Brendan Jenkins, Bra'Niyah Sheets, Jessie Scott, Kaylie, Ryan and Brooklyn Jenkins, Nauticah and Na'Savion Grooms, Ne'Amonee Walker, Naione Guyton and Caleb Smith; four siblings, Teresa (Stanley) Holmes, Gina (T.J.) Bishop, Bert (Tony) Garvey and Robert Jenkins, Jr.; special friends, Tim "Stick" Lavey, Dennis Day, Doug Wade, Fred Wise, Jr. and Doug Buttons. She was preceded in death by her mother, Sandra, a cousin, Carolyn Jenkins and a dear friend, B.J. Alspaugh. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME with Pastor David DeHart officiating. Visitation will be held on one hour prior from 2:00 to 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
