Shirley Skabla

SKABLA, Shirley Ann., 81, of Springfield, passed away Friday, July 14, 2017 in Essex of Springfield. She was born August 24, 1935 in Springfield, OH the daughter of Emory and Marjorie (Massie) McKinney. Shirley worked as a group leader at International Harvester for a number of years. She was an avid bowler having won the city championship 3 times, was on the state championship bowling team, won both a UAW and Moose state championships and is in the Springfield Bowlers Hall of Fame. Survivors include her husband of over 57 years, Albert "Tiny" Skabla, Springfield; her very good friend, Rita Jobe; her "Lake Bunch" neighbors, cousins, Joanne Rucker, Brian & Sue Rucker and Lisa & Dale Massie and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Bill Blain officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 12:00 to 1:00 pm. Burial will follow in Ferncliff Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
