Shirley M. Murray

Murray, Shirley M., 86, of Springfield, passed away at 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 1, 2016 at Dayspring in Fairborn surrounded by her family. She was born in Tiffin, Ohio on November 26, 1929 the daughter of Orley and Gertrude (Bare) Beamer. She worked at Shankscraft's for many years and was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church. Survivors include her husband, F. J. "Bud" Murray; five children and spouses, Michael (Barbara) Murray of New Carlisle, Maureen (David Massengill) Murray of Lanesville, Indiana, Margaret (Keith) Hughes of Springfield, Marie Hennigan of New Carlisle and Mary Ann Beach of Frederick, Maryland; 10 grandchildren, Megan, Brittany, Madelynn, Jason, Jared, Devin, Sarah, Michelle, Morgan and Brad; three sisters, Marilyn Adkinson, Jean Linkhart and Marilou Miller all of Xenia; numerous nieces and nephews; brother-in-law; sisters-in-law and her beloved dog, Shadow. She was the neighborhood Mom and fondly called "Mom Murray" by many friends. In addition to her family, she was loved by many friends including, Booker T. Wooten and the Bob Evans breakfast gang to name a few. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Michelle Gnau in 1996. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday in CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Raphael Church. Burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Animal Welfare League.
