SHUEY, Ruth Ann (Bradley), 88, of Springfield, passed away January 17, 2017 at Eaglewood Village Assisted Care Facility. She was born January 6, 1929 in Springfield, the daughter of John R. "Bob" and Rachel (Garlough) Bradley. Ruth Ann graduated from Springfield High School in 1946 and attended Miami University, majoring in mathematics. She was a civilian employee at Wright-Patterson AFB, where she held a security clearance, and later worked as a secretary at International Harvester. During her time as a homemaker and farm wife, she raised five sons, was a 4-H club sewing advisor and enjoyed gardening, baking and canning. In 1972, she returned to work as an administrative assistant in guidance offices in the Northeastern Local School District, retiring in 1999. Ruth Ann was a member of High Street United Methodist Church and the DZ Chapter of P.E.O. International, a philanthropic and educational organization promoting advancement of women. Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Ober Lincoln "Lin" Shuey; five children and spouses, Christopher and Laura Shuey, Albuquerque, NM, Robert and Mary Shuey, Dakota Dunes, SD, John and Jennifer Shuey, Powell, OH, Samuel and Susan Shuey, Springfield, OH, and David and Lona Shuey, Berne, IN; nine grandchildren, Bryant, Conor, Spencer Tripp, Jarrett, Jamison, MacKenzie and Brandon Shuey, Alexa Shoaf-Balsiger and Gabriella Hawkins; one great grandchild, Gavin Hawkins; a sister-in-law, Maxine "Mickey" Bradley and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a stillborn son, one brother, Robert C. Bradley, and a sister-in-law, Carolyn Bradley. Friends may call from 4 to 7 pm on Tuesday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Wednesday in the funeral home with Pastor Dan Powell officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Graham-Krueger Scholarship Fund for college-bound youth members of High Street United Methodist Church.
