FINCHUM, Roy H., 84, of Springfield, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 24, 2018. Roy was born January 31, 1934 in New Market, Tennessee to Charles and Zenia (Fox) Finchum. He retired from Navistar after 40 years of service and was also a full time farmer for his entire life. A soft spoken man with few words, Roy enjoyed spending vacations with his family, buying cattle, boating and working with his brothers on the farm. He was also a veteran of the United States Army. Survivors include his wife, Joan Y. (Getz); four children, Cathie Finchum of London, Ohio, Lisa (James) Sayers of Springfield, Tricia Finchum of Jamestown and Mark A. Finchum of South Charleston; two grandsons, Brock and Tecumseh; and three siblings, Charles Finchum, Jr., Reva (Jim) Wood and Earl (Sue) Finchum all of South Charleston. He was preceded in death by his parents and eight siblings. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4 - 7 p.m. in CONROY FUNERAL HOME. His funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Stephen Getz officiating. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Mausoleum. Memorial contributions may be made to Ohio's Hospice of Dayton.
