Rockwell, Ronald E., 75, of Springfield, died March 29, 2013 in Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born August 9, 1937 in Springfield, OH to Albert O. and Mary C. (Morrissey) Rockwell. He graduated from Springfield High School and received a B.A. in Psychology from Wittenberg University, and also served in the Ohio National Guard. Ron began his career as a purchasing expeditor and material handling analyst with International Harvester for 10 years; he then served at Chief Probation Officer for the Clark County Juvenile Courts for 5 years; in 1970 he was named Director for the Clark County Human Services, where he served 24 years; and later retired as Director of Fayette County Department of Human services after 13 years. He was involved in many community and professional activities, including Upward Bound, Noon Optimist Club, President of the Home Little League, coached Little League and Babe Ruth Baseball and United Way. Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Barbara L. (Eagleton); three children and spouses, Marlene (John) Eymann, Worthington, OH, Linda (Matt) McAllister, Waverly, OH; and Mark (Jill) Rockwell, Piketon, OH; six grandchildren, Jacob, Abigail, Madison, Mitchell, Cecilia and Jullia; several nieces and nephews; sister-in-law Patricia Eagleton and brother-in-law Michael (Teri) Eagleton. He was preceded in death by a brother, Allen. The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Patel and staff, Harding Road Pharmacy and the staff at Eaglewood Assisted Care. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to the Clark County Human Society. Arrangements are be handled by the CONROY FUNERAL HOME.
