Ronald D. Himes

HIMES, Ronald D., age 74, died unexpectedly at home on Friday, March 17, 2017. He was born in Cincinnati on November 4, 1942, the elder son of Orville and Elva (Hord) Himes. A true scholar, Ron graduated from Springfield High School in 1960, received his B.S. and M.B.A. from the University of Cincinnati and University of Dayton, respectively, and was a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE). He spent his career in hospital administration for both Springfield Mercy Hospital and the ProMedica health system in Toledo and taught business classes at Wittenberg and Clark State. Ron will be best remembered for his fierce love and quiet devotion to his family, who brought him great joy. He is survived by his mother, Elva Himes; children, Susan (Eric) White and Lance (Shannon) Himes; brother, Larry Himes; and five beloved grandchildren, Brandon (Nichole), Justin, and Alyssa White, and Owen and Lindsay Himes. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Andy Tune. Visitation will be held one hour prior beginning at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow in Ferncliff Cemetery.
