Rodeny Junior Hites

HITES, Rodney Junior, 89, of Springfield, passed away January 24, 2015 in Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born March 20, 1925 in Springfield, the son of W. Rodney and Gertrude (Dinnen) Hites. Rod had worked as a core maker for Ohio Steel for 41 years. He was a United States Navy veteran serving on the USS Santee, a member of the D.A.V., Union Club, Eagles and Northridge Lions Club. Survivors include his two children, Rod (Carol) Hites and Penny Hites; three grandchildren, B.J. Hites, Jennifer (Bobby) Parrett and Jamie (Andy) Howe; six great grandchildren, Christian, Rome, Madeline, Nolan, Regan and Luke; two sisters, Judy and Janet; one brother, Jeff and special friends, Dick Clingman, Paul McCarty and Mel Collins. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy in 2007, a grandson, Stephen Hites, a great granddaughter, Laney Jane Parrett, one sister, Betty and a brother, Jack. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5 to 7 pm in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to your favorite charity.
