Robert William McKee, Sr.

McKee, Sr., Robert William, 89, of Springfield, passed away at 2:25 a.m. Sunday, October 12, 2014 in his residence. He was born in Cambridge City, Indiana on May 6, 1925 the son of Cecil and Sadie (Fink) Mckee. He retired from International Harvester in 1982 after 35 years of service. He was a member of Christ Chapel Church of God, charter member of Lion's Club, founder of Northridge Baseball Association and charter member of Northridge United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corps serving in World War II. Survivors include his wife, Betty Jane (Zimmerman); four sons, Jack (Karen) Mckee, Bob McKee, Rick (Carla) Mckee all of Springfield and Don McKee of Beavercreek; sister, Martha Bran of Richmond, Indiana; nine grandchildren, Jack, Jr., Brooke Harris, Rob, III, Molly, Megan, Lacie, Kylie, Michael and Matthew; 10 great grandchildren, Kellen, Peyton, Tanner, Kebeck, Kamryn, Aiden, Kendall, Harper, Jack, III and Mia. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday in CONROY FUNERAL HOME. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home with Pastor Charles Noel officiating. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Christ Chapel Church of God or Northridge Lion's Club.
