Robert S. Maxwell

MAXWELL, Robert S., 89, of Springfield, passed away Monday, October 12, 2015 in his residence. He was born October 29, 1925 in Springfield the son of John F. and Nettie (Sisk) Maxwell. He worked as a purchasing agent for Wm. Bailey for 26 years and later for Ross Willoughby Co. for 12 years. Bob was an avid golfer and a United States Army veteran having served in World War II in the Philippines. Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Schade-Maxwell; two children and spouses, William & Nancye Maxwell and Vickie Lynne Wells; stepchildren, Jennifer & Kim Kazar, Melissa & Daniel Evilsizor, Lisa & Richard Cox and Christina & Robert Parsons; one stepdaughter-in-law, Deborah Schade; 14 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife Margaret in 2003, one brother, one sister, a stepson and a son-in-law. Friends may call from 5 to 8 pm on Wednesday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday in the funeral home with Pastor Chuck Glover from Westville United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, South Charleston.
