Robert L. Starcher

STARCHER, Robert L., 89, of Springfield, passed away Friday, September 1, 2017 in Good Shepherd Village. He was surrounded by his family and passed peacefully. He was born March 4, 1928 in Zanesville, Ohio, the son of Earl and Dovie Starcher. Robert spent many years managing Starcher's Department Store and he supplemented his income by selling pottery in a three state area. Robert later worked at Borden's Milk Co and when it closed, he never missed a day of work, beginning immediately at London Correctional Facility as a Corrections Officer where he completed his career. Survivors include his six children, Judy Groeber, Robert (Alecia) Starcher,Jr., Stephen (Adena) Starcher, Lynn Reeder (Peter Bush), Cindy Goney (David Gustovic) and Joseph Starcher; 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte in 2003 and 2 brothers, Elgia and Harley Starcher. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
