Robert L. Burke

Burke, Robert L., 71, of Springfield, passed away at 9:20 p.m. Thursday, June 11, 2015 in Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born in Springfield on August 4, 1943 the son of Jacob and Doris (Auckerman) Burke. He worked at Navistar for 42 years, before retiring as the Employee Assistance Coordinator. He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, where he was involved with the men's prayer group and parish council. He was also a member of St. Vincent de Paul and volunteered many different places. Survivors include his wife, Janet S. (Wolford); two daughters and spouses, Dawn (Keith) Blauvelt and Amy (Randy) Baumgardner all of Springfield; four grandchildren, Emily Anglemyer, Kristopher and Hunter Blauvelt and Ethan Baumgardner; great granddaughter, Ava Dennings and four sisters and spouses, Connie (Shannon) Jackson of Springfield, Candace (Mark) Valentine of Grove City, Terri Kohn of Atlanta, Georgia and Jean (Robert) Grant of Grant, Florida. The family would like to give a special thanks to the nurses on 4 North and the Hospice team for their excellent care. Visitation will be held from 2-5 p.m. Sunday in CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Bernard Church. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery.
