Langen, Jr., Robert F. "Bob", 71, passed away at 12:10 a.m. Tuesday, February 28, 2017 in his home. He was born in Springfield on August 12, 1945 the son of Robert F. and Eleanor (Roberts) Langen, Sr. He worked in Sales for many years with Pepsi and Mike-Sell's and was also a bartender. He was a 1963 graduate of Catholic Central High School, attended St. Raphael Catholic Church, and was a member of V.F.W. Post #1031 and Elks Lodge #51. He proudly served his country in Vietnam with the U.S. Marine Corps. Survivors include his wife, Artie (Morris) Langen; daughter, Heather Langen; granddaughter, Madeline; two sisters and brother-in-law, Margaret "Peg" Baltes and Leah (Keith) Gullett; four brothers-in-law, Jim Hearlihy, Ed Edmonds, Dave Morris and Brian Henry; three sisters-in-law, Kelly Henry, Shirley and Lynn Morris; many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and his dog, Charlie. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Sarah Boyd, Carol Edmonds and Mary Hearlihy and two brothers-in-law, Henry Boyd and Gerald Baltes. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday in CONROY FUNERAL HOME, with a VFW Service beginning at 5 p.m. His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with Pastor Jim Britton officiating. Burial will be in Vale Cemetery.
