Robert E. Ransbottom

Ransbottom, Robert E., 89, of Springfield, passed away October 12, 2013 in Forest Glen Health Campus. He was born in Zanesville on August 21, 1924, son of the late Carl and Alice (Burkhart) Ransbottom. He was the Vice President of Stewart's Root Beer Co. for many years, working for his father and later owners of the company. Robert was a very avid golfer, and was a member of First Lutheran Church of Springfield. He served in the US Navy during World War II. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Lois (Rine); sons, Robert C. (Mary Fran) and Thomas C. (Lynn); grandchildren, Renee, Sara (Matt) Hahn, Rachel, Eric, Michael; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Richard, Bernard and Kathleen Cullen. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 11 to 1 p.m. in the Conroy Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. following the visitation with Pastor James Christian officiating. Burial will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery.
