HALE, Richard T., 92, of Mechanicsburg, passed away Friday, January 22, 2016 in Oakwood Village. He was born March 15, 1923 in Springfield the son of Herman T. and Mildred M. (Schmidt) Hale. He worked as Vice President and former President of Electric Eel Mfg. for over 40 years. Richard was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church, a volunteer at St. Vincent DePaul where he was former treasurer and Shawnee Antique Auto Club. He was a United States Army veteran having served in the Battle of the Bulge during WWII where he earned a Bronze Star. Survivors include six children and spouses, Tom Hale, Springfield, Marilyn & Rich Deppe, Russells Point, Alice Hale & Henry Wickham, Columbus, Philip & Dee Hale, Springfield, Michael & Tina Hale, Springfield, J. Patrick Hale, Springfield; 13 grandchildren, Shannon, Lauren, Travis, Tiffany, Tara, Henry Joseph, Julia, Ryan, Tim, Danielle, Nathaniel, Hannah and Noah; 16 great grandchildren; one sister, Jeanne Doyle, Elkhart, IN; numerous nieces and nephews and a very special friend, Bette Jo Sample. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy in 2005 and a daughter, Mary. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday St. Raphael Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to St. Vincent DePaul or St. Raphael Catholic Church.
