Richard "Rudy" Comer

Comer, Richard "Rudy", 76, of Springfield, died at 1:55 a.m. Friday, August 30, 2013 in Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born in Springfield on May 24, 1937 the son of Harrison and Nancy (Hauenstein) Comer. He was the Manager of the Northridge IGA for more than 30 years and was a longtime member of the Elks. Survivors include his wife, Sheila M. (Sullivan); three children, Richard B. Comer, Holly M. (Cramer) Burks and Randall M. (Tamara S.) Comer all of Springfield; brother, James Comer of Springfield; six grandchildren, Chad, Zach, Sierra, Grace, Grant and Matthew and many nieces and nephews. Rudy was well known for his sense of humor and will be deeply missed. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday in CONROY FUNERAL HOME. His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Vale Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to The Springfield Foundation c/o the Richard Comer Scholarship Fund.
