Raymond A. Bennett

Bennett, Raymond A., 86, of Springfield, died December 14, 2016 in his residence. He was born March 26, 1930, in Springfield, OH to Nicholas and Naomi (McClellan) Bennett. Ray retired in 1993 as a line storeroom supervisor with Ohio Edison after 37 years of service. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Jessie A. (Neff); three children, Blake Bennett, Nicki (Dr. Steven) Morgenstern, Springfield, and Lorri St. Jean, Westfield, MA; six grandchildren, Melanie (Harold) Schreck, Jeremy (Maxi) Tagg, Brandon (Cathy) Tagg, David Morgenstern, Chad & Jon Bennett; four great-grandchildren, Matthew, Ryan and Natalie Schreck, and Maxwell Tagg; a brother, Robert E. Bennett; numerous nieces and nephews; and his canine best friend, Gracie. He was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Mast. Ray was a devoted family man who enjoyed fishing, bowling, and playing golf. He was also an avid euchre player. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Visitation will be one hour prior, beginning at 12:30 p.m. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Mausoleum. Memorial donations may be made to Dayton Community Mercy Hospice.
