BAKER, Ralph C. "Bake", 97, of Springfield, passed away January 17, 2013 in Forest Glen. He was born June 12, 1915 in Springfield the son of Charles A. and Faye (Lippincott) Baker. He was the owner of the Beer Barrel Café and 106 Club on West Main St. for 45 years. Ralph raised harness horses and was a member of Ohio Horseman's Club, B.P.O.E. #51 and F.O.E. #397 and was a United States Navy veteran having served in WWII. Ralph was an avid Cincinnati Reds and Ohio State fan having held Buckeye football season tickets for 65 years. Survivors include four children and spouses, Judy Worthen, Springfield, Sally & Carl Filbrun, New Carlisle, Patti & Stephen Wagner, Springfield and Dan Baker, Springfield; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth in 2006, one granddaughter, Cathy, a sister, Zelma Singer and her husband, Eddie and one nephew C.J. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff at Forest Glen and Odyssey Hospice. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Tuesday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. following the visitation with Pastor Alan Cain officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the German Township Fire Department and EMT.
