Philemon Phlips

Phlips, Philemon L., 82, of Springfield, passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2017 in Good Shepherd Village. Phil was born May 4, 1935 in Aalst, Belgium to Albertus and Emilia (DeNeef) Phlips. He worked for Ohio Carpenters, and later retired from Navistar after 22 years. He as a member of the Civil Air Patrol, volunteered for the Coast Guard and was an avid small engine pilot. Survivors include his wife, Maria (Wauters) Phlips; two children, Albert (Olga) Phlips and Linda (Ron) Black; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Marie Miller. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME with Chaplain Mark Meyer officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior in the funeral home, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Yellow Springs.
