Pete Stephens

Stephens, Peter W., 65, of Springfield, died April 1, 2013 in Miami Valley Hospital. He was born July 1, 1947 in Springfield, OH to Charles Stephens and Donna (Dyse) Stephens (Horner). Pete retired as a teacher at Schaefer Middle School after 30 years with the Springfield City Schools. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Viet Nam Conflict and held memberships in various veteran and fraternal organizations. Survivors include his wife of 30 years and partner in raising his three stepsons, Peg Stephens; his three stepsons, Steven (Nanci) Curtin, Brandon (Barbie) Curtin and Evan Curtin; four grandchildren, Wesley, Ryleigh, Alexandra and Caleb; and a half-sister and half-brother. His funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday in CONROY FUNERAL HOME with Jack Oberleitner officiating. Family will receive friends 1 and a half hour prior, beginning at 12 noon. Burial with a brief ceremony will be in the VA National Cemetery in Dayton, OH on Monday at 11:00 a.m., friends are welcomed. Memorial donations may be made to Honor Flight, 300 E.
