HARLAN, Paul R., 84, of Springfield passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2017 in his home due to a lengthy illness. He was born March 17, 1933 in Champaign County, Ohio the son of Raymond and Viola (Gundolf) Harlan. Paul worked for Brockman Heating and Air for 39 years. He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene, Knights of Pythian, was an avid bowler, enjoyed fishing, loved to garden and was an all-around Mr. Fix-It. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Sharma (Sanders); two children and spouses, Tonda (Harlan) & Kerry Gaffney, Springfield and Todd & Synetta Harlan, West Virginia; five grandchildren, Alissa and Stef Gaffney, Kayli and David Harlan and Zack Mathis-Abshire; four brothers, Howard, Carl, Harold and Eugene Harlan and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Max. Friends may call from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Wednesday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 pm in the funeral home with Pastor Keith Sarver officiating. Entombment will follow in Rose Hill Mausoleum.
