NEWMAN, Paul D., 77, of Springfield, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2016 in his home. He was born June 18, 1939 in Springfield the son of Thomas and Mary (Canny) Newman. Paul worked as a tower operator for Conrail/Norfolk Southern for over 40 years. He was a member of Moose Lodge #536, Union Club and was as avid golfer playing with Hunter's Herd at Locust Hills and the Geritol group at Snyder Park. Paul had three holes in ones in his lifetime. He loved music, loved to dance and had a passion for cooking, even considered himself a chef. Paul was great at drawing and enjoyed crossword puzzles. His daughters will remember him for his slideshow projections. Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Marsha (Phares); three sons, Barton Newman, Brett Newman and Shawn (Krista) Newman; four daughters, Brenda (Derek) Brutchey, Shelia Carroll, Dawn (Rob) Skeens and Erika (Nelson) White; 22 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; one brother, John (June) Newman; cousins, Mike (Lynn) Mealey and Patricia Turner and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Brian Newman and a great grandson, Collin Jenkins. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday in the funeral home with Fr. William Kramer officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Clark County Humane Society or Second Harvest Food Bank
