Patrick J. Maloney

MALONEY, Patrick J., 46, of Springfield passed away Sunday, November 9, 2014 in Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born February 8, 1968 in Springfield the son of James F. and Therese A. (McConnell). Pat had worked at Remington Steel for 10 years. He was a graduate of Catholic Central High School, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus #624 and the Union Club. Patrick was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Notre Dame and Dale Earnhardt, coached little league football and baseball, and CYO basketball. Survivors in addition to his father and second mother, Jim (Mary Ellen) Maloney, include his wife, Sharene (Riggle); three children, Ashley Maloney, Sierra Maloney (Jeff, Trevor and Hailey Wade) and Dale Maloney, all of Springfield; seven siblings, Laura (Kevin) Dancy, Erin (Tom) Trempe, Brian Maloney (partner Stelian Serban), Katie Maloney (Doug), Tracy (Benjamin) Everingham, Elizabeth (Charles) Martin and Matthew Maloney; nieces and nephews, Adam (Chelsea), Alex, Maggie, Amy (Chris), Anne (Zack), Kevin (Lexi), Claire, Frannie, Lillian, Nolan, Colin, Fintan, Dragomir, Seamus, Amanda, Kyle and Sharise; special friends, Billy Reno, Tim Elliot, Andy Abraham, Joe Krupp and Mark Guenther. He was preceded in death by his mother, Therese, one brother Michael and the family pet, a chocolate lab, Rudy. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 7:00 p.m. in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
