Patrick H. Hixon

HIXON, Patrick H., 72, of Springfield, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2018 in his home. Pat was born January 29, 1946 in Springfield, OH to Herman and Mildred (Szempruch) Hixon Leonard. He retired from Navistar after 36 years. Pat was a Vietnam Veteran for the United States Marine Corps and recipient of two Purple Hearts, a Bronze Star Medal with Valor, and a Presidential Unit Citation. In his free time he enjoyed shooting pool with friends and taking his daily morning walk. Survivors include his loving wife, Sharon; two children, Stephen (Jennifer) Hixon and Joseph Hixon; two step-children, David Burchett and Melissa (Randy) Childress; six grandchildren, Ashlynn, Alyssa, Kaylin, Benjamin, Nate and Molly; a sister, Marti (Darryl) Sullivan; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sons, Michael and Danny. His memorial service will be held on Wednesday at 12:00 p.m. in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Richard Johnson officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery.
