Patricia Yochem

Yochem, Patricia Jean, 86, of Springfield, passed on June 4, 2013 in Springfield Regional Medical Center. She was born April 15, 1927 in Springfield, OH to the late John and Thelma (Miller) Hyer and was raised by her beloved grandmother and Aunt Lena and Grace Hyer. Pat retired in 1991 after 23 years from the F.W. Dodge/Magraw-Hill Co. and was a member of St. Raphael/St. Joseph Church. Survivors include two children, Chris Yochem and Candyce O'Connor, Springfield; five grandchildren, Staci(Reckart), Shaun and Nicole Yochem, Kathleen and Maura Grace O'Connor; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Roberta Salyers and a special cousin, Dora Lee Newland. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Joanne Speakman and Jackie Hoffman, two brothers, Robert and William Hyer, cousin, Richard Newland and her beloved son-in-law, Mark O'Connor with whom she had a close mother-son relationship. Her greatest joy and loves in her life were her children and grandchildren. Her passions were reading, her beloved animals and attending every activity that her children and grandchildren participated in. She blessed many lives and had a lasting impact on everyone she met. Friends may call in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph Church. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Animal Welfare League.
