Maine, O. Louise "Weezie", 89, of Springfield, passed away on January 24, 2013 at Oakwood Village with her loving daughter by her side. She was born on December 29, 1923 in Springfield, Ohio the daughter of Fred and Barbara (Haerr) Deselem. She graduated from Springfield South High School in 1941 and married William E. Maine on July 16, 1946. After graduation she worked for 10 ½ years for F. Walton Baily & Eugene C. Acton in the office of the Thomas Stationary Mfg. Co. and then a short time in the office of Greyhound Lines when the depot was located on N. Fountain Ave. In 1956 she was hired as a stenographer in the Records Section of the Springfield Police Division. She worked at the direction of Chiefs Lawrence A. Abbott, Isaac W. Hallowell, Winston J. Stultz and James H. Burch, and along the line was promoted to Records Supervisor and Administrative Assistant to the Chief. She retired in 1987 with 31 ½ years of service. Louise was preceded in death by her husband William in 1988, her parents, two brothers, Karl and Robert Deselem and a sister-in-law, Pauline Deselem. Survivors include her beloved daughter Teresa D. Hawke and her significant other Ralph Whitehead of Springfield; grandchildren, Todd (Tricia) Hawke and Heather Hawke; great grandchildren, Brady and Kylie Hawke. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Rick Clos officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Springfield Police Citizens Academy Alumni Association, Community-Mercy Hospice or Oakwood Village.
