Neil Beckner, Sr.

Beckner Sr., Neil, 70, of Springfield, passed away on January 20, 2016 in his residence surrounded by his family. Neil was born on May 17, 1945 in Detroit, Michigan to Lambert and Virginia M. (Stutler) Beckner. He had been employed as the Director of Maintenance for St. John's Center for 35 years before retiring in 2011. He was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed working on and repairing clocks. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Wilma (Stevenson); children, Neil (Dana) Beckner, Jr., Rollin (Christy) Brossman and Mindy (Tony) Clark, all of Springfield; one brother, Bill Beckner of Michigan; five grandchildren, Jade Beckner, Haylea and Corinne Clark, Tiffany (Sean) Gill and Kyle (Briana) West; one great-granddaughter, Ryleigh West and a number of nieces and nephews including Matt, Mike and Kris Beckner. A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Rick Clos officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior, beginning at 6:00 p.m. Inurnment will be in West Virginia. Memorial donations may be made to the Animal Welfare League, Clark County Humane Society, or your favorite charity.
