YIRAK, Neely K., 40, of Springfield, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 21, 2014 in Springfield Regional Medical Center. She was born January 30, 1974 in Springfield the daughter of Robert and Lynda (Christian) Yirak. Neely was a special ed. teacher at Indian Valley Middle School and was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church. She volunteered for the Special Olympics, Relay for Life, Autism Speaks and the Springfield Soup Kitchen. Neely was avid runner who enjoyed half marathons and endurance races. Survivors in addition to her parents include a sister, Karey (Aaron) Dunaway; brother, Tyson (Betsy) Yirak; nieces and nephews, Alexis Yirak, Braden and Elise Dunaway and Thatcher and Turner Yirak; aunt and uncle, Pat and JoEllen Yirak; cousins, Nick and Ben Yirak; very special friends, Opal Ulery and Jennifer Smith. She was preceded in death by her grandparents. The family would like to offer a special thanks to Dr. Mohammad Kabir, Dr. Surender Neravetla and the nurses at Springfield Regional. Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday in St. Raphael Catholic Church with Deacon Norm Horstman officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Special Olympics, Relay for Life, Autism Speaks or the Springfield Soup Kitchen.
