Sonneborn, Myron L., 95, who resided at the Ohio Masonic Home in Springfield, Ohio and a Thirty-Third Degree, Scottish Rite Mason, was born to Earthly Life on August 23, 1929 and passed to Eternal Life on Saturday, November 23, 2024. He was preceded in death by all the following: wife, Helen F. Sonneborn; parents, Rev. George and Viola Sonneborn; sister, Lois (Roy) Lausman; brothers, George (Barbara) Sonneborn, Paul (Flossie) Sander and their children, Paul and Fred Sander; and grandparents, John (Emilie) Freese.
Surviving are a son, Paul (Kerry) and their children, Nicholas, Michael and William; daughter, Kathy (Dean) Barley and their children, Maura and Ian; daughter, Linda (Lee) Wilson; daughter, Lisa (Michael) Lee and their children, Anthony and Alexis; stepdaughter, Carrie Landers (Michael) O’Neal and their children, Michael, Matthew and McKenzie and her husband, and their children, Vincent and Olivia Upchurch; sister, Janet (Norman) Neubauer; and a host of nieces and nephews, Amy Trumbower, Julie Sonneborn, David, John and Mark Lausman, George, Jr. and David Sonneborn and their families.
For two years Myron attended Elmhurst College in Elmhurst, IL. However, he decided to go another route with his life. He lived at home and started to attend night school to gain some sales skills so he would be better prepared as a salesman. That worked out well. The last 10-12 years he was employed by JC Penny, but with Helen’s health failing her care was of greater importance. The final years of her life, Myron was with her almost 24 hours a day. She rests in peace, as she passed away on May 30, 2021. Before his sales career, Myron was pleased to serve as the Executive Secretary of Scottish Rite of the Valley of Dayton.

Anthony Ianni and staff, Dr. Rauf and staff, staff at The Wexner Medical Center, Sally Ray of PNC Bank, Kathy Fent, the Lemmons family, Samantha family of Ojai, CA, George and Denice Hartman of Ojai, CA, Byron Reese and family, friends that reside in McMahan’s Mobile Home Park, Jacob Duty, Huntington Bank and friends, Doug Brown and Associates, Home Maintenance, special check-out clerk Janie at Kroger, the Ohio Masonic Home staff, the people at the table of 7 at the restaurant, as well as the staff at the restaurant at the Masonic Home, and all of his friends at Cunningham Place at the Masonic Home, St. Vincent DePaul and staff, as well as the staff at St. Raphael Church. Praise God for all of these wonderful friends!
A Masonic Ring Service will be held for the family and will be given by Paul A. Welage of the Grand Lodge of Ohio. Myron’s 14th Degree Scottish Rite Ring will be presented to his son, Paul, in memory of his dad. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 in the CONROY FUNERAL HOME, 1660 E. High St., Springfield, OH with Fr. Chris Komoroski officiating. Visitation will be held 30 minutes prior, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery in Springfield, next to his dear wife, Helen F. Sonneborn.
