Millard Perkins

Perkins, Millard, 96, of Springfield, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2017 in his daughter's home in Elkhart, IN. Millard was born September 17, 1920 in Rowan County, KY to Clarence E. and Versie (Riddle) Perkins. He was a veteran of the United States Army, where he served in World War II. He was a long time homebuilder in Clark County. He also developed Shawnee Acres sub-division and was a primary builder in Possum Woods. He is survived by two children, Steven (Debra) Perkins, Ostrander, OH and Stephanie (Trif) Dimitroff, Elkhart, IN; four grandchildren, Travis Perkins, Troy Perkins, Lauren Mora and Rayna Dimitroff; seven great grandchildren; and two siblings, Raymond and Grace. He was preceded in death by his wife, Verna; five brothers, William "Milzie", Cleo, C.C., Herbert and Wilburn; and three sisters, Olive, Hazel and Ann. The family would like to thank the residents of Greenlawn #2 for their support and friendship in his later years. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. in Rose Hill Burial Park with Rev. Bill Blain officiating. The family requests that no flowers be sent. Arrangements by CONROY FUNERAL HOME.
