PEYTON, Miles Daniel, 88, of Springfield, passed away at 8:30 p.m. Sunday, September 10, 2017 in Forest Glen Health Campus. He was born in Grassy Creek, Kentucky on August 3, 1929 the son of Oscar Logan and Virgie (Nickell) Peyton. He was the owner of Miles D. Peyton Electrical Service for over 40 years. He and Norma were married almost 61 years before her death on August 23, 2010. He attended the former Story - Hypes United Methodist Church where he spent many years being an usher. He was a former member of the Eagles, Elks, Union Club and Clark County Sportsman's Club. He was the co-founder and former President of the Clark County Electrical Contractors Association, former President of Clark County Fish and Game, and supported the Catholic Central Boosters. He loved trapshooting, hunting, playing poker, and spending time with his family. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Bev "Dianne" (Ken) Endicott; grandson, Justin Endicott (Evan Lawson) of Lexington, KY; sisters, Ina Flannery and Nell Caudill; three sisters-in-law, Oleta Collins, Bonnie McKenzie and Marlene Peyton; brother-in-law, Donald McKenzie; many nieces and nephews and dear friend, Mary Richardson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Aihleen McKenzie Peyton; son, Danny Clay; siblings, Rebecca Weddington, Nina Caudill, Kathryn Swisshelm, Rosie Peyton, Thomas Peyton, and Oscar Talmadge Peyton; brother-in-law's, Roger Collins and Ronald McKenzie. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday in CONROY FUNERAL HOME. His funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home with Dr. Steven Fewell officiating. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Mausoleum.
